RHS Feature Garden 'Work With Your Garden'
Wentworth Woodhouse Flower Show 2025

This RHS Feature garden ‘Work With Your Garden’ was created for the RHS Wentworth Flower Show 2025 and designed as a collaboration between myself and Richard Hill Design based in Suffolk. The garden showcases how you can, and should, work with the inherent characteristics of your garden to create and enhance its character. Every garden is unique, and we should celebrate and enhance of all of those elements which make your garden special.
The garden highlights how you can turn garden problems into opportunities, working with your existing space, rather than fighting against it. Elements such as aspect, soil, topography and moisture all have a role in design, landscaping and planting opportunities. ‘Work With Your Garden’ explores these different elements throughout. The garden also highlights how working with our unique garden characteristics creates a tapestry of spaces which supports a wider array of wildlife through inherent biodiversity.
The garden features a series of borders, each representing a set of unique growing conditions that might be found in a typical garden, from dry to damp, sheltered to exposed, full shade to full sun, and are planted with clever combinations that will thrive in those conditions. The garden’s South Yorkshire heritage is celebrated with a traditional dry-stone wall, nods to our industrial past of mining and steel making and links to the present day horticultural community, which is thriving!
